The 3rd Money Shape from Ancient China : KNIFE Design
From the late Shang period through Zhou Dynasty the coin craftmen developed another new design which is in a shape of knife. This is because during this period the Shang dynasty is getting weaker and Zhou dynasty is getting stronger. And there was battle fighting between Shang and Zhou dynasties.
Hence, these coin craftmen come up with a very creative idea using knife shape and mould into money.
It was not only used as a form of money and it is also used as a form of self-defense. Though it is a form of money it is also a form of weapon when needed to protect one-self.
However, it is rather heavy and bulky and too sharp pointer to carry around.
In the next blog, you will get to see the changes from odd shape to round shape.
Note: Knife coin are worth : From US$120 per pc to US$1,500 per pc depending on the size and rareness from un-earthed limited qty.
